Samsung has temporarily restricted the use of generative AI tools, such as ChatGPT, among its employees after discovering instances of misuse, including the uploading of sensitive code to these platforms. The company has advised its staff to take precautions when using these services outside of work and to refrain from entering personal or company-related information. This move comes as a response to growing concerns about the security risks associated with foreign-owned generative AI products, as highlighted by a recent company-wide survey. Despite the restrictions, Samsung recognizes the potential benefits of generative AI in enhancing employee productivity and efficiency and is exploring ways to safely incorporate these technologies into its operations.
